Ribbon Dancers

Service Description

Introduced in 2007, the Ribbon Dancers section offers youth members ages 7 to 12 an exciting opportunity to try something new and creative while remaining connected to the proud PHCMDC tradition. This section helps members develop and maintain rhythm by learning to count in sets of eight and move in time with the beat of the drum. Through carefully designed routines, participants will build confidence, coordination, and performance skills as they learn a variety of wrist movements, formations, and military-style marching techniques. While ribbon work is similar to flag work, its unique movements give this section a special style of its own.
